Valuing Diversity

The workplace and society has always been a diverse place, but conformity has more often been the dominant influence rather than appreciating and developing the difference between people.  With more research on how different we all are and a greater emphasis on the importance of using and deveolping that difference, along with legislation that calls us to promote equality and diveristy, we need to look seriously at how we can work efficiently, productivly and harmoniously in a diverse workplace.

Course content
The challenge of valuing diversity
Practices that hinder valuing diversity
Recognizing our comfort zones
Embracing difference
Being Inclusive
Creating an action plan to value diversity.

NB This course does not deal with the legislation that covers diversity but with the day to day practicalities of working with people with diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities etc.

Feedback  diverstiy

This has helped me to have a greater understanding of how people behave, and helped me to think more about why they are behaving as they are.
