There are many definitions of culture - but most boil down to the old adage - 'It's the way we do things around here.'

We learn our own culture without knowing it and we are oblivious to it until we come into contact with someone from another culture. That's when the problems start and our assumptions, perceptions and behaviours are all challenged.
